Well Love Your Guts Co was founded on sharing. Sharing the gift of delicious, gut healthy foods, and a glimpse into the fascinating world of bacteria. 
Being fermenting 'evangalists' we believe water kefir should be a household drink. We also believe the more people fermenting, the more beneficial bacteria proliferate and the world will ultimately be a healthier happier place.

A war on bacteria has been waged for the last few decades and we are doing our small part to end it. The overuse of antibiotics has produced resistant bacteria as lethal as any we managed to kill. Those drugs, along with a processed food diet lacking in both bacteria and food for bacteria, have disordered the microbial ecology in our gut in profound ways that we are just beginning to understand, and which explains many of our health problems today.
Children protected from bacteria (and dosed with antibiotics) turn out to have higher rates of allergy, asthma and behavioral problems. We have to reassess our relationship with bacteria and one of the best ways of doing that is by introducing the ancient art of fermenting into your life.

A year ago two brothers and a mate shook hands over the dining table and Love Your Guts the Company was born. 
Alas the dream started years ago...

Since attending a fermenting workshop with @sandorkraut Katz years ago the invisible world of bacteria and fermenting has fascinated me and I learnt everything I could about it. It always amazed me how something ordinary like a cabbage could be miraculously transformed into a superfood through the process of fermentation, and it wasn't long before I was running my own workshops sharing the magic.

I became a bit of a fermenting fanatic and had all sorts of bubbling concoctions brewing away on the bench, ready to share with hapless mates and I loved to watch their reactions as they trepidly tried foods they'd never heard of.
Water kefir quickly became a fave and I was soon brewing regular batches for friends and family and experimenting with flavours. Jars grew into barrels and scobies multiplied like rabbits in spring. .
The idea of starting a business started to brew and thanks to a legend of a mate started selling water kefir on tap in his new espresso joint @fundamentalespresso. To my surprise it walked out the door and my excitement began to grow. I could actually turn my passion into a business! 
Through some serendipitous timing my brother Joh and good mate Zac entered the picture and together a vision was born. Thanks to them Love Your Guts has exploded from a side hustle into a fully-fledged company selling Water Kefir around Australia, with a lot of sweat, tears and a massive learning curve along the way. 
We are here to stay and committed to making the best water kefir possible utilising one of our local assets: pure spring water from the highlands of Tasmania. 
Even though bottling a live probiotic drink poses its challenges, we won't compromise with fake 'natural' flavours and sweeteners but use cold pressed juice and syrups extracted from real fruit and herbs. Our recipe hasn't changed since the days of sharing it with friends and family.
